Position Summary (Brief description summarizing overall purpose / objectives of the position) Maintenance Technician experienced in maintaining and repairing winery facilities, equipment, and systems while adhering to mechanical, electrical, and safety standards.
Essential Functions (Core Responsibilities integral to the job – must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation. Includes supervisory responsibility, use of equipment, and indication of key contacts, if applicable) • Diagnose, maintain, and repair winery-specific equipment, including: Bottling line and kegging equipment, Transfer and crush pad pumps, Glycol chiller systems and temperature control loops, Barrel washers, sanitation systems, and small motor-driven equipment, Mechanical gates, platforms, Stainless steel fermentation tanks and components, and facility safety infrastructure
• May perform routine welding and light fabrication using MIG or TIG, especially for repairs to stainless steel components such as flanges, brackets, and support frames
• Use electrical schematics and technical documentation for troubleshooting and repairs
• Maintain safe practices, including lockout/tagout, PPE use, and safe tool operation
• Perform routine and basic repairs and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to drywall repair, painting, plumbing, electrical work, and general carpentry, in accordance with safety standards and applicable codes.
• Document all work, inspections, and equipment updates accurately and on time
• Works well in independent and team environments
• Will require after-hours, weekend shifts, and on-call rotations
Non-Essential Functions (Desirable, but not necessary aspects of the job, can be performed by other employees, may include occasional or periodic functions) • Previous vineyard and/or winery maintenance preferred.
• Receive and maintain safety certifications to use forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other winery equipment
• Experience with CMMS records and time management
Working Conditions • Indoors and out; in all sorts of climatic and weather conditions, including but not limited to inclement weather such as rain, wind, cold and extreme heat.
• Weekend and off-hour coverage for production or facility maintenance as needed
Physical Requirements (Physical demands required by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions) • Must be able to repeatedly lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to walk and stand for most of the day; turn, twist, bend, crouch, extend, climb ladders, and have a full range of motion in all varieties of physical movement, while using tools, holding loads, and working with one’s hand
Qualifications (Minimum competencies required for job performance) • Valid California driver’s license
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a production environment.
• Ability to safely operate assigned equipment in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
• Be insurable on the company vehicle insurance policy
