Marathasa Wines | Troodos Mountains, Cyprus

Marathasa Wines is a family-owned premium winery located in the northern Troodos Mountains of Cyprus. With 12 hectares under vine and further expansion planned, we work with indigenous varieties such as Xynisteri and Yiannoudi, alongside Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc, producing three core labels plus small-batch and experimental wines.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Principal Winemaker to lead all winemaking operations and play a key role in the strategic growth of the estate. This senior position offers genuine creative influence within a quality-driven, family-owned winery. Local and international candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Lead winemaking from grape to bottle across all labels
Plan and manage harvest, fermentations, blending, maturation, and bottling
Work closely with vineyard management to optimise grape quality
Drive innovation through experimentation and small-batch projects
Lead and mentor the cellar team
Ensure quality control, hygiene, and regulatory compliance
Contribute to brand development, tastings, and growth initiatives

Candidate Profile

Proven winemaking experience in a premium environment
Strong technical skills across different winemaking styles
Interest in Mediterranean and indigenous grape varieties
Hands-on leader with strong organisational and communication skills
Fluent working English required; Greek an advantage
