A Taste of What You'll Do
Join Gallo Winery as a Lab Technician and play a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of our wines and winemaking processes. Under general supervision you'll perform physical, microbiological and chemical analyses on wines, grapes, water and incoming materials; operate and maintain instruments such as auto-titrators, refractometers, GC, IR and spectrophotometers; support microbiological sampling and bottling-line sanitation monitoring; prepare media and standard solutions; log samples and results in the LIMS; and participate in method development, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance within an ISO 17025-compliant quality system.
We're looking for someone who brings attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and a collaborative approach to continuous improvement. You'll evaluate QC data, follow response plans for out-of-tolerance results, make practical suggestions to improve lab practices, and support timely, customer-focused data release. Reliable attendance, timely completion of training, and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment are important.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or Biochemistry; OR Associates degree plus 1 year of laboratory support experience; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of laboratory support.
• Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
• Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
• Required to maintain 3 shift availability (day, swing, and graveyard); required to work overtime when necessary; required to work weekends when necessary.
• Required to be at least 21 years of age.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
• Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
