This position is a part-time, seasonal (March through November) position. Shifts are mainly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, although special events may be available on weekdays. The successful applicant should be available to work at least four shifts per month. Shifts may be weather-dependent.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Dodon seeks to provide its wine club members and guests with an elegant, impeccable, warm, and familiar experience. The hospitality associate will work collaboratively with other Front of House (FOH) team members to always ensure this level of service.

Specific Tasks will Include:
•  Preparing the site for service: Set up bars, put out signage, clean tables, put up umbrellas, stock materials, tidy workspace, and set up for events
•  Greet guests, answer guest questions or find an answer to them by conversing with managers and/or shift leads, and direct guests to seating areas
•  Open and pour wine, distribute glassware, and engage with guests about the vineyard, winery, wine club, and specific wines
•  Utilize a point-of-sale program to run tabs and finalize sales
•  Utilize reservation system to track arrivals, finished tables, and guide guests to proper reserved locations
•  Polish glassware, wash dishes, take out the trash, clean tables, and do other maintenance activities
•  Cut, present, and serve cheese and charcuterie boards
•  Clean-up at the end of the shift: Return the property to standard, return unused wine and glasses to the tasting room, and assist other staff in closing and securing the premises
•  Offer responsible alcohol service and ensure that all guests remain safe and comfortable
•  Other tasks as needed

Qualifications
•  Exceptional customer service skills, professional demeanor and appearance, warm and hospitable spirit, ability to problem solve and use creativity; commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
•  Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work unsupervised
•  Professional oral communication skills.
•  Willingness to learn about wine and viticulture.
•  Willingness to assist in all aspects of the event setup and breakdown, including cleaning, taking out the trash, and other manual work.

Requirements
•  Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds across rough terrain.
•  Work is completed mostly outside during warm to hot summer months. Applicants must be able to work outdoors in heat and humidity for 9 hours per day and walk hills and grassy areas. Time indoors is limited.
•  Careful attention to detail and inventory management is essential.

Compensation
•  This position will be paid at an hourly rate.
•  Employees may not accept gratuity following The Vineyards at Dodon’s gratuity policy.
•  Employees will receive a discount on wine and food purchases.


Your employment with The Vineyards at Dodon is subject to a probationary period of three months from the date of your first day of work. During this time, your performance will be evaluated and performance reviews may be conducted to assess your progress and provide feedback. At any point, you can ask for feedback on your performance. At the end of your probationary period, we will discuss the fit of your employment at The Vineyards at Dodon.
