Job Description:

A high-end, small-lot winery in Dundee Hills is seeking a dedicated Cellar Master to join our team. We produce a diverse range of both still and sparkling premium wines, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gamay Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and other intriguing varietals, in a modern facility equipped for both still and sparkling winemaking. This full-time, salaried position is responsible for overseeing and executing all cellar operations, serving as a walking example of SOPs to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in wine production while providing collaborative leadership for the cellar team.
Key Responsibilities
•  Perform and lead all aspects of cellar and harvest operations
•  Skillfully operates winemaking and heavy equipment and support basic troubleshooting and upkeep
•  Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and functional cellar; conduct regular facility assessments and implement preventative maintenance and general upkeep
•  Ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders with meticulous attention to detail
•  Lead, train, and motivate cellar staff
•  Monitor and maintain environmental controls, including temperatures and headspace
Qualifications
•  3+ years of leadership-level cellar experience
•  Comprehensive, high-level operation of winery equipment and cellar processes, with a strong understanding of their impact on wine quality
•  Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage priorities and workflow in a fast-paced environment
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively direct and train staff at all organizational levels
•  Meticulous attention to detail, a commitment to excellence, and demonstrated punctuality and reliability
•  Flexibility to work varying shifts, including times outside normal business hours and overtime as needed, especially during harvest and other peak production periods
•  Proven forklift proficiency and safe operation
Physical Demands
•  Moderate to heavy physical work, including frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying in indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures
•  Must be able to lift and move up to 55 lbs repeatedly
•  Regular exposure to chemicals, machinery, forklifts, and related production equipment
•  Long and irregular hours during peak seasons
