Associate Winemaker / Viticulturist

Santa Lucia Highlands, California On-site, daily presence required

An established vineyard and winery in the Santa Lucia Highlands is seeking an Associate Winemaker to support day-to-day vineyard and winery operations. This is a hands-on, operational role with involvement across the growing season, harvest, cellar activities, and bottling.

Working closely with ownership and a consulting Winemaker, the Associate Winemaker will assist in executing winemaking protocols, coordinating daily activities, and supporting overall quality and efficiency within the operation. Responsibilities will evolve based on experience, initiative, and winery needs.

Responsibilities

•  Support daily vineyard and winery operations

•  Assist with harvest planning and execution

•  Participate in cellar activities and general production workflows

•  Help monitor wine quality and maintain production standards

•  Maintain records and support winery systems as needed

•  Collaborate with vineyard, cellar, and consulting teams

•  Uphold safety, cleanliness, and quality standards

Qualifications

•  Degree in Viticulture, Enology, or related field, or equivalent experience

•  Prior hands-on winemaking experience preferred

•  Familiarity with vineyard and cellar operations

•  Strong organizational skills and ability to manage daily priorities

•  Collaborative, adaptable, and self-motivated

•  Must be 21 years or older

Physical Requirements

•  Ability to work indoors and outdoors

•  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

•  Willingness to work extended and flexible hours during harvest

Salary contingent on experience Competitive compensation based on qualifications and scope of responsibility.
