We are seeking a passionate and experienced Hospitality Manager to lead our tasting facilities and guest experience, creating memorable moments for our visitors and fostering lasting relationships with our customers. This is a full time role at Evening Land Vineyards, in Salem, Oregon. This position will report to the Director of DTC Sales and Hospitality.
Direct Reports: Tasting Room Associates
The Hospitality Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the tasting facilities and guest experiences at Evening Land Vineyards. This includes managing the hospitality team, developing and executing sales and service programs, cultivating customer relationships, hosting guests, and ensuring a seamless and elevated experience for every visitor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality, a deep understanding of wine, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. This role is multi-faceted and requires a high level of adaptability and evolution. Provignage operates as a highly collaborative team, and all roles may occasionally support cross-functional projects. Please expect to be onsite at the Vineyard daily.
Responsibilities:
• Tasting Facility Operations: Manage the daily operations of the multiple tasting facilities, including opening and closing procedures, hosting guests daily, inventory management, point-of-sale (POS) system management, reservation system management, and visitation data, and ensuring a clean and organized environment.
• Guest Experience: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the guest experience, creating personalized and memorable visits. Ensure exceptional service and cultivate relationships with visitors.
• Development: Be an integral part of the team responsible for new projects at the vineyard and the future of customer visitation for Evening Land Vineyards.
• Team Management: Supervise, train, and motivate the tasting room team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development. Participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Wine Education: Provide wine education to the tasting room team and guests, sharing knowledge about Evening Land Vineyards' wines, winemaking practices, and biodynamic philosophy. Develop educational materials and tasting notes by working closely with the winemaking and vineyard management teams.
• Sales & Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Drive sales at the vineyard, including wine sales, wine club memberships, and merchandise. Manage the customer database and utilize CRM tools to cultivate customer relationships and track sales data. Coordination daily with Customer Service and DTC teams.
• Trade: Host trade and media visits.
• Wine Club Management: Support the wine club program through member acquisition, retention, and communication. Assist with wine club events and mailings.
• Events & Experiences: Plan and execute vineyard events and experiences, such as special tastings, winemaker dinners, and vineyard tours. Coordinate logistics, staffing, and vendor relationships. Represent Evening Land Vineyards at local events and associations.
• Inventory Management: Manage wine and merchandise inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and timely ordering.
• Budget Management: Assist with developing and managing the tasting room budget, tracking expenses, and analyzing revenue.
• Compliance & Regulations: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations related to alcohol sales, hospitality, and safety.
• Marketing & Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote all Evening Land events. Contribute to social media content and email marketing efforts. Manage onsite collateral needs.
• Customer Feedback: Collect and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and enhance the guest experience. Send personalized follow-up emails within 24 hours of the visit.
• Must support winery operations during key periods such as bottling, harvest, or other production projects, as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of [Number] years of experience in hospitality management, preferably in a winery tasting room or upscale restaurant.
• Deep understanding of wine and the wine industry.
• Possess a valid driver’s license, OLCC Server permit, and local certifications.
• Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service and building customer relationships.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with POS systems, CRM software, and reservation management tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, as needed.
• Must be available to participate in a variety of harvest duties, team building, and esprit de corps.
• Passion for food, wine, and hospitality is a plus.
Compensation:
• Annual salary ranges between $80,000 - $85,000 + bonus opportunities.
