Compensation: $22.00 – $22.50 per hour
Merry Edwards Winery was founded in 1997 and produces terroir-driven, single-vineyard Pinot Noirs, including the winery flagship Meredith Estate, from 80 acres of certified sustainable estate vineyards in the Russian River Valley. The wines are produced with respect for the land using site-specific viticulture, adhering to the winegrowing tradition begun by legendary winemaker Merry Edwards and carried on by her successor, Heidi von der Mehden.
After a recent acquisition, the winery is now under the ownership of Maison Louis Roederer in France. Maison Louis Roederer has remained an independent, family-owned company and is now managed by Frédéric Rouzaud, who represents the seventh generation of the family's lineage. The family and its wineries are focused on estate-based wineries and vineyard practices that always start with land stewardship to craft the highest quality wines.
Position Summary:
Merry Edwards Winery is seeking a Full-Time Cellar Worker to join our team. We produce world class Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc from estate vineyards in California’s Russian River Valley. Our facility was designed with wine quality and production efficiency in mind.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strict adherence to all winery SOPs and safety protocols in order to complete tasks assigned on work orders
• Cleaning and sanitizing all winery equipment and facilities
• Use of Waukesha style positive displacement-, air-, and centrifugal pumps
• Racking juice and wine
• Filling, topping, racking, cleaning and maintaining barrels
• Operating crush equipment and presses
• Additions to barrels and tanks
• other work as assigned
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Prior winery cellar experience
• Understanding of winery cleaning and sanitation
• Prior forklift driving experience a plus.
• Good communication skills – written and verbal
• Attention to detail
• Must be able to perform simple math – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
• Ability and willingness to work nights, long hours and weekends, especially during harvest
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Able to work on your feet for up to 12+ hours per day.
• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
• Able to walk, kneel, crawl, climb up and down ladders; go up and down stairs, while working for many hours.
• Able to walk on uneven terrain.
