Director of Hospitality

OVID Napa Valley

Saint Helena, CA

Job Description:

Hospitality is not a service.
It is a memory — carefully designed, flawlessly executed, and deeply felt.

High on the volcanic slopes of Pritchard Hill, OVID Napa Valley crafts wines of intensity, elegance, and place — and delivers hospitality with the same precision and intention. Every visit is personal. Every experience is elevated. Every guest leaves transformed.
We are seeking a Director of Hospitality to steward this experience — leading on-site hospitality, events, and client engagement with warmth, rigor, and refined excellence.

The Role
As Director of Hospitality, you are the architect of the OVID guest experience. You oversee all on-site hospitality operations, events, and client-facing touchpoints, ensuring every interaction reflects the brand’s luxury standards and storytelling.
You lead and inspire a small, high-performing hospitality team while collaborating closely with Winemaking, Client Relations, and Customer Experience leadership to drive visitation, sales performance, and long-term client loyalty.

What You’ll Do
Hospitality Operations
•  Lead and deliver high-touch, memorable hospitality experiences for consumer and trade guests
•  Host on-site experiences and events as needed
•  Manage team scheduling and daily operations to support business needs
•  Partner with Hospitality Support and Winemaking to ensure seamless execution and deep wine knowledge
•  Collaborate with leadership on annual sales goals, operating budgets, and expense management
•  Oversee inventory movement and coordination with Hospitality, Winemaking, and Accounting teams
Events, Client Acquisition & Engagement
•  Build strategic partnerships to grow brand awareness, visitation, and client retention
•  Cultivate referral relationships with aligned wineries, luxury hotels, and destination partners
•  Serve as primary point of contact for YPO, VIP, and key event clients
•  Host site visits for prospective event partners
•  Collaborate on in-market activations including in-home tastings and private dinners
•  Manage relationships with catering partners for on- and off-site events
Leadership & Culture
•  Lead and develop a team of Hospitality Associates
•  Set clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards
•  Coach, mentor, and support ongoing growth and development
•  Communicate OVID’s brand story, values, and objectives with clarity and consistency
•  Foster a culture of trust, safety, collaboration, and service excellence
•  Partner with Customer Experience leadership to support the Whole Bunch culture

Who You Are
You are a natural host and thoughtful leader with deep experience in luxury wine hospitality. You combine operational discipline with creative problem-solving and thrive in fast-paced, high-touch environments. You are detail-oriented, emotionally intelligent, and confident engaging with discerning guests at the highest level.

Qualifications
•  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
•  5+ years in wine industry hospitality; highly allocated brand experience preferred
•  Proven ability to lead teams and execute complex events end-to-end
•  Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
•  Comfortable working nights, weekends, and changing priorities
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office
•  Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record

The Environment
This is an on-site role in St. Helena, CA, within a fast-paced hospitality setting that blends office, kitchen, and dining spaces. Physical demands include standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs .

If you believe exceptional wine deserves exceptional hospitality — and that leadership begins with how guests feel — this is your opportunity to shape the OVID experience from the moment a guest arrives to long after the final glass is poured.
