This Senior Accountant role is focused on inventory and cost accounting within a wine manufacturing environment. It involves managing accounting for multiple entities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards, and supporting operational and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
• Inventory Accounting: Calculate, maintain, and update costing; reconcile inventory sub-ledger to general ledger; ensure accurate reporting of inventory on hand.
• Cost Accounting: Maintain cost accounting system, set up standard costs, reconcile actual vs. standard costs, analyze COGS and gross margins.
• Month-End Close: Assist with inventory cost entries and other closing activities.
• Compliance & Audit: Prepare documentation for tax and audit requests.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Support reforecasting for COGS and manufacturing variances.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance procedures for accuracy and efficiency.
• Cross-Entity Management: Handle accounting duties for three entities under one parent company.
• Vendor Management: Process vendor bills accurately.
• Special Projects: Provide support for ad-hoc projects from management.
Required Education & Experience
• Degree: Bachelors in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Experience: 5+ years in Accounting/Finance with Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience (Winery experience preferred).
• Systems: QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Expensify; SOS and Vintrace are a plus.
• Skills: Strong Excel proficiency.
