The Senior Manager of Plant Maintenance & Engineering is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and engineering functions within the plant. This role ensures the efficient operation of plant equipment, the implementation of preventive maintenance programs, and the execution of engineering projects to improve plant performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership and Management:
o Lead and manage the plant maintenance and engineering teams, providing direction, support, and development opportunities.
o Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and accountability within the team.
o Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
• Maintenance Operations:
o Oversee the maintenance of all plant equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
o Implement and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
o Coordinate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting operations.
• Engineering Projects:
o Plan, execute, and oversee engineering projects aimed at improving plant efficiency, safety, and reliability.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
o Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards in engineering projects.
• Technical Expertise:
o Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance and engineering teams.
o Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve plant operations.
o Troubleshoot complex equipment issues and develop effective solutions.
o Solid knowledge of PLC systems.
• Compliance and Safety:
o Ensure all maintenance and engineering activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
o Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
o Promote a safe working environment and lead initiatives to improve workplace safety.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
• Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in plant maintenance and engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of maintenance management systems and engineering project management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CMRP).
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Working Conditions:
• This employee may be required to travel occasionally.
• The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is required to stand and walk.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, noise, heat, fumes and other industrial conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Annual salary range: $135k – $145k. This annual salary range reflects the expected hiring range for this position. Please note that this salary is solely for candidates hired to perform work within California and refers to the amount McDowell Valley Winery is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. This position is bonus eligible.
