Barra of Mendocino is a family-owned winery located in the scenic Redwood Valley of Mendocino County, California. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Accounting & Operations Manager to join our small, collaborative team. This role is responsible for overseeing all core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, while supporting day-to-day operational needs across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and a proven track record of working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders. Reliability, strong communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities include:
•  Managing all payroll processes as well as maintaining accurate, up-to-date employee records
•  All Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable duties
•  Managing all wholesale distribution invoicing/billbacks
•  Performing monthly bank reconciliations across all entities
•  Tracking bulk wine and case good inventories and providing monthly sales reports
•  Maintaining compliance documentation as well as accurate state license records and renewal schedules as needed
•  Coordinating with production, tasting room, and sales teams to ensure accurate reporting
•  Support month-end close processes and preparation of financial reports

Qualifications:
•  5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
•  Experience with QuickBooks (Desktop version preferred)
•  Experience with TTB excise tax filing, CDTFA reports and payments, and various state compliance requirements
•  Familiarity with POS systems as it relates to QuickBooks integration and tax reporting(Commerce7 a plus)
•  Payroll experience or exposure to payroll platforms helpful
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
•  Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
•  Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
•  Experience in the wine industry, agriculture, hospitality, or manufacturing is a plus, but not required

Physical requirements:

•  Ability to lift 50 lbs.
•  Sitting for extended lengths of time
