Founded in 1888, the estate is undergoing a focused revival centered on disciplined execution, right-sized growth, and long-term brand building. We are a lean, entrepreneurial organization seeking leaders who treat the business as their own and take pride in building something meaningful from the ground up.
Role Summary
The National Sales Manager (NSM) owns all U.S. market execution for Langtry Farms. This role exists to provide focused, accountable sales leadership while the GM/Winemaker remains on-site overseeing production, vineyard, and operations.
This is a hands-on, builder role—not an administrative position. The NSM is actively selling, creating momentum, and developing the business even when no one is watching.
Core Responsibilities – Distributor & Market Management
- Own relationships with distributor principals and senior leadership nationwide
- Execute Langtry’s market prioritization strategy
- Set and manage weekly goals with distributor leadership
- Oversee inventory, depletion trends, pricing, programming, and incentives
- Conduct regular business reviews and performance analyses
- Lead transitions out of underperforming distributors when necessary
Sales Execution & Growth
- Drive volume, velocity, and sustainable placements across priority markets
- Generate new business through personal relationships and prospecting
- Develop pricing strategy, incentives, and market programs
- Support and manage brokers, contract reps, and regional partners
- Coordinate with international brokers and exporters as needed
National & Regional Accounts
- Manage and grow key national and regional chain accounts
- Build new national account relationships where appropriate
- Collaborate on private label and exclusive programs
- Ensure customer commitments align with production and inventory
Strategic Alignment & Leadership
- Align forecasts, inventory planning, and production timing with GM
- Provide real-time market feedback to inform SKU and pricing strategy
- Own sales budgets, forecasting, and performance reporting
- Manage and mentor a modest sales team as the business scales
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of wine sales leadership experience (flexible)
- Strong wholesaler and distributor relationships
- Experience managing lean national footprints
- Strong distributor-level communication and portfolio management skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a builder mentality
- Self-directed, accountable, and motivated without close oversight
