Start Date: Late March/Early April
Position Type: Full-Time | Hourly (path to salary)

Position Summary

Accent Cellars and Yonah Mountain Vineyards are seeking a full-time Winemaker’s Assistant to join our production team. This is an entry-level role designed as a serious foot in the door for someone pursuing winemaking as a career.

The position spans two primary wineries plus Blue Ridge Bottling Company, Accent Cellars’ bottling operation. The assistant will gain hands-on experience across estate production, custom crush clients, and mobile bottling, working with grapes sourced from Georgia and across the country. This role works directly alongside the winemaker and shifts as needed to where production demands are highest, with a strong emphasis on mentorship, hands-on training, and professional development.

We are willing to train the right candidate. Work ethic, attention to detail, integrity and initiative matter more than polish.

Responsibilities

All facets of winery and cellar operations, including:
•  Crush, press, and fermentation management
•  Racking, transfers, filtration, blending
•  Barrel work and cellar organization
•  Bottling line setup and operation (winery & mobile bottling)
•  Basic lab work (pH, TA, SO2, etc.)
•  Forklift operation (training provided)
•  Sanitation and cellar cleanlinesss/maintenance
•  Vineyard sampling and harvest support
•  Assisting with production and logistics for custom crush clients
•  Every week will be different, so no set schedule.

Qualifications
•  Entry-level; prior harvest experience preferred, but not necessary
•  Self-starter able to work independently or within a small team
•  Highly trainable and detail-focused
•  Comfortable in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
•  Able to lift 50+ lbs and work long hours during harvest
•  Weekend and holiday availability required as production demands
•  Have a personality that enjoys life and people around them, but knows how to focus when the time/job is needed.
•  Understands that the role requires efficiency, with the ability to maintain focus, manage priorities, and follow tasks through to completion in a fast-paced production environment.
•  When production slows, comfortable taking on general winery maintenance and upkeep as needed.
