Position: Production Assistant

Sonoma Valley Custom Wine (SVC) is the premier custom crush facility in Sonoma. Conveniently located between Napa and Sonoma Counties, the company offers a complete array of winemaking services. Our mission is to establish long-standing relationships with our clients and help them maintain quality and efficiency. Sonoma Valley Custom Wine offers services from grape to bottle.

Job Description:
Work under the direction and expectations of the Production Winemaker to manage all aspects of bottling and cellar activities. This will include, but is not limited to:
•  Responsible for all case goods/warehouse inventory, shipping, receiving, and maintenance
•  Collaborate with the Production Winemaker and General Manager to create and execute a bottling schedule
•  Coordinate shipping, receiving, and inventory of all bottling line dry goods and finished products
•  Schedule mobile bottling lines
•  Schedule and manage temporary staff for bottling
•  Collaborate with the SVC Safety Team to create SOPs, training materials, etc.
•  Collaborate with the SVC Management Team to implement a Planned Maintenance Program
•  Read and interpret analytical results accurately and efficiently
•  Monitor daily Brix and temperature on fermenting tanks and barrels
•  Organize and maintain the laboratory database, including juice and finished wine chemistry, oxygen additions and dissolved oxygen measurements, free sulfur dioxide, and temperature
•  Organize data into presentation format for the winemaking staff
•  Enter data into Vintrace and spreadsheets
•  Conduct yeast hydrations, inoculations, and additions in the cellar
•  Perform bench trials for blending, fining, and additions
•  Support winemaking activities in the cellar as needed

Qualifications:
•  Two years of winery experience
•  Bachelor’s degree in Enology or a related field
•  Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently
•  Basic knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
•  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods
•  Forklift driving experience is a plus
•  Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
