Southern California Area Sales Manager - Cline Cellars
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary focus of the Southern California Area Sales Manager will be weekly account level engagement across Orange and San Diego Counties with the state’s top wine retailers, restaurants, hotels, clubs and resorts. Successful candidates should have a track record of existing account-level relationships in this market, with preference given to candidates with a strong working relationship and record of value-added service with our wholesale partners at SGWS.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & EXISTING SKILLS
Achieve sales plan by cultivating and maintaining relationships with on-premise customers, as well as fine wine retailers.
Working independently and with wholesalers’ key account managers and sales representatives “on the street,” driving volumes and brand standard execution with each market’s chains and independents in both on and off-premise.
Minimum days in-market expectation of 4 days per week
Serve as the winery’s primary interface with our distributor partners; assisting with goals and incentive programs, recommending competitive pricing and support levels. Candidates must be able to produce compelling and creative general sales meeting presentations to help educate our partners on our brands, upcoming marketing initiatives, new items, etc.
Conduct monthly consumer tastings in target accounts, and provide consumer feedback
A documented track record of success building relationships with key independent and national chain retailers and restaurants is essential.
Achieve annual depletion, profit & brand standards.
Communicate performance and program status, and assist in course correcting our business trends.
Conduct monthly meetings with individual sales teams, and participate in general sales meetings on a quarterly basis.
Manage distributor inventory levels to avoid out of stock issues and to ensure execution of major marketing programs and allocations.
Participate in trade and consumer tastings for our key accounts in the markets.
Conduct all duties in a professional, effective and efficient manner that meets the standards set forth in Cline’s employment agreement.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
Assist to evaluate and execute company pricing parameters ensuring we are aligned with wines within our competitive set.
Travel and Expense Reports - must be submitted twice per month on the Cline Cellars Expense Report and within your allotted T&E budget.
Provide senior management with requested reports including on-going accomplishment recaps, targeted account updates, work-with schedules, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Minimum 3 years of exemplary performance within a California wine distributor or California supplier sales territory management experience.
Have excellent presentation, public speaking and computer skills.
Are proficient in VIP/iDig, Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint.
Able to comfortably lift and move wine averaging 40 pounds per case.
Valid driver license and proof of valid automobile insurance.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, twist and squat on occasion.
Drive for two to three hours at a time.

PAY RANGE: $85,000 - $105,000 (Depending on Experience)
