Accounting Manager

Silver Oak Wine Cellars

Hybrid > Healdsburg, CA

Job Description:

About the Company:
Silver Oak is more than a winery—it’s a testament to resilience, bold vision, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. As one of Napa Valley’s most iconic Cabernet Sauvignon producers, we have set the standard for approachable luxury, crafting wines that are as refined as they are unforgettable. Silver Oak continues to be a symbol of achievement and prestige, embraced by those who appreciate true craftsmanship.

For over five decades, we’ve believed that ‘our best bottle is yet to come.’ This unwavering commitment to quality has driven us to seek out the finest vineyard sites in Napa and Alexander Valley, build LEED Platinum Certified wineries, and invest in our own cooperage in Missouri—ensuring every barrel is 100% American oak and precisely toasted to complement our signature winemaking style.

At Silver Oak, we don’t just make wine; we create experiences that elevate life’s defining moments.

About the position - We’re looking for an Accounting Manager who shares that same commitment to excellence—someone who finds satisfaction in the details, takes pride in accuracy, and wants their work to support a brand with a legacy as strong as its future.

As our Accounting Manager, you’ll play a vital role in stewarding the financial foundation of a multi-entity wine business. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers while guiding a team and partnering across the organization.

You’ll help ensure our financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant—so leadership can make confident decisions, and the business can continue to thrive.

In this role, you’ll:
•  Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring invoices are coded correctly, policies are followed, and balances are accurate.
•  Review general ledger activity and monthly balance sheet reconciliations, making sure everything ties out and reflects the true state of the business.
•  Lead the month-end close, from journal entries through final reporting.
•  Analyze results, investigate variances, and work closely with cross-functional partners to resolve questions and improve processes.
•  Support inventory and cost accounting, including reconciliations, physical counts, and valuation.
•  Prepare clear, thoughtful financial reports that support planning, forecasting, and informed decision-making.
•  Help improve accounting systems, workflows, and controls to keep us operating efficiently as we grow.
•  Support budgeting efforts and annual external audits.

You’ll also:
•  Lead, mentor, and develop a collaborative accounting team across AP, AR, and General Ledger.
•  Set priorities, manage workflows, and ensure close and reporting deadlines are consistently met.
•  Foster a team culture built on accountability, trust, and attention to detail.
•  Step in to support the team when needed—because we succeed together.

Qualifications
•  Have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 6–8 years of experience, including at least 2 years leading others.
•  Take pride in accuracy and have an eye for the details that matter.
•  Are comfortable balancing structure with flexibility in a dynamic environment.
•  Have strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
•  Enjoy collaborating with partners outside of finance and explaining the “why” behind the numbers.
•  Have advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (Great Plains/Dynamics is a plus).
•  Are excited about contributing your expertise to the wine industry.

Why Join Silver Oak
•  Be part of an iconic, values-driven winery with a reputation for excellence.
•  Do meaningful work that supports craftsmanship, sustainability, and long-term thinking.
•  Partner closely with leadership and operations in a role that truly matters.
•  Join a team that values care, curiosity, precision, and pride in doing things well.

If you’re someone who believes that details matter, legacy matters, and that your work should support something enduring and special, we’d love to hear from you.
