The Role

The National Sales Director will lead and execute Niner Wine Estates’ national wholesale strategy, managing distributor relationships, setting clear priorities, and driving sustainable growth across all markets. This role reports directly to ownership and works closely with marketing, winemaking, and DTC teams to ensure a cohesive, brand-aligned approach to market. This is a senior leadership role for someone who can balance big-picture strategy with in-market execution.

Key Responsibilities

National Sales Strategy & Leadership
•  Develop and execute the national sales strategy across our 13 key U.S. wholesale markets
•  Set annual sales goals, depletion targets, and pricing strategies by market and channel
•  Manage distributor relationships with a focus on accountability, performance, and long-term partnership
•  Conduct regular market visits to support execution, training, and key account growth
•  Develop and strengthen relationships including top restaurants, private clubs, and luxury hotels
•  Work with ownership, winemaking and marketing to host trade events at the Estate
•  Lead annual planning, forecasts, and budget collaboration with finance and ownership

Team Collaboration
•  Work closely with marketing to align programming, incentives, and brand storytelling
•  Partner with DTC and hospitality teams to ensure brand consistency across channels
•  Serve as a key internal voice for the wholesale channel, providing market feedback and insights

Brand Stewardship
•  Act as a passionate ambassador for Niner Wine Estates in the trade and with key accounts
•  Ensure sales growth supports long-term brand equity, pricing integrity, and quality driven values

Qualifications & Experience
•  10+ years of wholesale wine sales experience, including multi-state or national responsibility
•  Strong relationships and proven success managing distributor networks
•  Strong understanding of pricing, margin management, and incentive structures
•  Experience with both on-premise and off-premise channels
•  Highly organized, data-driven, and comfortable with CRM and sales reporting tools
•  Willingness to travel regularly
