Antiquum Farm Winemaker
Antiquum Farm Winemaker

Job Description:

The Farm

Antiquum Farm represents a paradigmatic shift in intensive wine farming, sustainability, and the pursuit of true terroir.
For the past 19 years Antiquum Farm wines have been grown in an entirely self-sustaining system we have dubbed “Grazing Based Viticulture”. No fertilizers of any kind are used. Instead livestock (pigs, sheep, chickens, geese, and turkeys) graze the vineyards year round in an intensive rotational system. This system utilizes the gut fauna of livestock and cycles of root growth and die-off to isolate, evolve, and stimulate our soil microbiome.
The results have been truly extraordinary. Isolating and evolving the soils microbial populations has untethered our wines from historic, regional, and varietal expectations. The individualistic spirit of these wines bears the truth of the home we love and the ethics of the people who work here.
Winemaking at Antiquum Farm must embrace these principals. We seek to make wines of uncompromising truth and quality. We shun the idea of winemaking “style” as we believe that this idea creates a gravitational pull away from the naked truth of place and people
Sharing our work has created rapid growth and a dedicated following of consumers, restaurants, retailers, and distributors. Our priorities are humanity, family, and creating a more beautiful world. We share these values through our work and intimate personable experiences at the farm.

We are a small but mighty team. Stephen leads the farm, and acts as GM and national sales director. We have a full-time director of hospitality and DTC sales, two part-time tasting room sales staff, two full time vineyard team members, and one farm and hospitality support staff. From time to time we all pitch in to help each other in our respective arenas to get it all done.
