We are seeking:
We are looking to find a long term team member for the role of Accounting & Compliance Coordinator. This role supports daily accounting operations and helps ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This position works closely with the Controller and is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, compliance tasks, and cross-department coordination. The ideal candidate is proactive, reliable, comfortable navigating multiple priorities and deadlines, and is highly detailed oriented.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
• Manage all daily and weekly entries, coding, and workflow for Accounts Payable
• Manage all daily and weekly entries, coding, and workflow for Accounts Receivable
• Work closely with Controller and various teams to keep Quickbooks detailed and as up to date as possible
Monthly Accounting Support
• Assist with inventory transactions and adjustments
• Support month-end close processes and preparation of financial reports
Compliance Coordination
• Maintain compliance documentation and support as needed
• Maintain accurate state license records and renewal schedules as needed
• Support Controller and teams on excise tax, CA sales tax, etc reporting
• Work with third party Compliance company and Controller to coordinate and manage compliance as needed
Payroll & Employee Support
• Assist with biweekly payroll processing
• Help maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records
• Track and support the management of employee PTO and sick time balances
• Coordinate with department managers to ensure timely timekeeping and approvals
Administrative & Cross-Functional Support
• Coordinate with production, tasting room, events, and DTC teams to ensure accurate reporting
• Assist with compliance documentation, vendor onboarding, and audit preparation
• Maintain organized digital and physical accounting files
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team
Qualifications
• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems (Commerce7 a plus)
• Payroll experience or exposure to payroll platforms helpful
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Experience in the wine industry, agriculture, hospitality, or manufacturing is a plus but not required
