Position Purpose
Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, this position performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with a primary focus on general ledger activities. The Accountant supports monthly and annual close processes, fixed asset accounting, and account reconciliations. Responsibilities include reconciling general ledger subaccounts, preparing journal entries, ensuring data accuracy, and providing financial insights through account research and analysis. This role also assists with special accounting projects as needed.
Essential Duties
• Assists the month-end close, including preparation of various journal entries, balance sheet preparation, account reconciliations, monthly accruals, and related reports.
• Prepares account analysis, accrual calculations, allocations, and other related schedules.
• Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying data.
• Provides accounting support in the preparation of financial statements.
• Analyzes and interprets financial information.
• Updates and maintains accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions
• Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies and improve current processes or procedures
• Assists with special projects as assigned
• Assists during annual financial audit
• Processes requests for Certificates of Insurance on behalf of the Company

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with general ledger review/analysis and financial statement preparation.
• Proficient in Adobe PDF, Microsoft Windows, Excel & Word
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail/thoroughness with deadline-oriented focus
• Experience with Fixed Asset Depreciation Software preferred
• CPA license or CPA candidate preferred
• Familiarity with enterprise accounting systems (such as SAP) preferred
Working Conditions
Office-based position with occasional outdoor exposure to the winery

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Non-Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $24.51 to $38.38. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
