Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with current wine industry-related work experience. This position will report to the Controller and will play a critical role in various aspects of the company including general ledger, financial reporting, audits and banking in addition to various assigned accounting tasks and responsibilities.

Key Accounting Responsibilities
•  Ongoing general ledger maintenance to ensure accurate financial reporting and documentation. Particular focus on balance sheet account reconciliations.
•  Serve as a resource and provide guidance to the other members of the Accounting team.
•  Work with business partners to review period results and post corrections as needed.
•  Prepare and post journals as part of the period close cycles including all intercompany activities.
•  Assist with annual budgeting process and period actual vs. budget variance analysis.
•  Reconcile company bank accounts on a monthly basis and follow up on issues.
•  Download and review all expense reporting from Concur prior to posting to GL.
•  Prepare monthly entries to reflect external compliance consultants’ activities.
•  Drive improvements and efficiencies by partnering with internal teams and other organizations to establish best-in-class processes and procedures.
•  Assist with documenting procedures and controls.
•  Other related accounting duties as assigned.

Professional Requirements:
Education/Experience: BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related experience. 5+ years equivalent experience including managing multiple entities in the ERP, preferably in a wine company.

Skills: Strong attention to detail with an analytical ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently follow through on projects. Able to work as part of a team, managing competing demands and deadlines working in an evolving environment with enthusiasm. Demonstrated ability to lead and interact effectively with management and other departments as well as outside agencies and partners. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Strong computer skills with NetSuite software experience being highly desirable.

Physical: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
