Our team is small, hands on, and passionate about producing wines that reflect the distinct character of Dry Creek Valley. If you are looking to join a close knit team with a focus on quality, Mill Creek Vineyards is the place for you.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cellar Master to take full ownership of the hands on daily work in the cellar. This is a practical, boots on the ground role responsible for completing the tasks that keep our winemaking operations running smoothly. Outside of harvest, the Cellar Master works independently the majority of the time and carries out all duties at the direction of the Winemaker. Responsibilities include everything from crush pad work and fermentations to wine maintenance, blending preparation, and bottling prep. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys working with their hands, and values the satisfaction of seeing their work directly reflected in the wines we produce.

Key Responsibilities:
•  Oversee all cellar operations while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency
•  Manage wine maintenance including topping, sampling, basic lab work, reviewing outside analysis, and making SO2 additions
•  Work closely with the Winemaker on blending trials, stylistic decisions, and overall wine development
•  Lead all crush activities including grape sampling, crush pad operations, cap management, barreling, and additions
•  Prepare wines for bottling including blending, fining, stabilization, and filtration
•  Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cellar equipment as needed
•  Supervise and train the seasonal intern during harvest
•  Ensure all work complies with winemaking, safety, and sanitation protocols

Qualifications:
•  Minimum of two full years of experience in a winery cellar or similar production environment
•  Strong understanding of winemaking processes, equipment, and safety best practices
•  Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, work long days on your feet and in a physically demanding environment, and work on ladders, catwalks, and in tight, confined spaces
•  Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail and follow through
•  Forklift experience
•  Strong organizational abilities and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
•  A degree in enology, viticulture, or a related field
•  Experience with four or more harvests

Compensation and Benefits:
•  Hourly pay in the range of $25-$28 dollars/hour depending on experience
•  Five paid personal days
•  Employee wine discounts
