Position Summary

The Estate Manager of Chalk Hill is responsible for homes, grounds and gardens located on and around the Chalk Hill Estate Vineyard and Winery.
The Estate Manager will ensure that the designated homes designated always meets the standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and design for our Ownership, Wine Club and Inner Circle members. Development of plans and schedules to support the aesthetic grounds and culinary needs of Chalk Hill, which include grounds landscape health, gardens and the greenhouse/propagation, installation of plants, control of irrigation equipment, maintenance of the tools and equipment, management of employees, costing adherence and monitoring.


Roles and Responsibilities:
•  Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to, training, timely and accurate reporting of all work-related injuries and illnesses to the supervisor, promoting safety awareness to co-workers.
•  Develop and lead a daily/weekly/monthly work schedule to secure adequate resources to complete required duties, inspections, calibrations, preventative, predictive, and planned maintenance while coordinating production requirements, equipment availability and the most efficient use of labor, parts and other resources.

- Equipment and Resources
•  Inspect and audit all Foley homes, grounds and gardens to ensure the highest standard of quality, aligning them with winery brand standards and ensuring that desired hospitality experiences can be delivered. This includes ensuring that homes are inspected both before and after each stay to verify that they are ready and that no damage has occurred.
•  Complete any day-to-day repairs of homes, grounds and gardens; however, when more advanced skills are needed, note them in CMMS so the Maintenance teams can assist. For larger CAPEX projects, you will develop a plan and budget.
•  Manages CAPEX budgets, permits, and schedules for any renovation, refurbishment or project to support scope of responsibilities, this includes 3-year plans, project submission, bidding, RFPs, RFQs, project management, permitting/compliance. Look for opportunities to spend responsibly and save money.
•  Follow procurement and vendor guidelines when making purchases and selecting vendors.
•  Monitor and manage all systems associated with HVAC, water, pools, irrigation, electrical, plumbing, fire, security, structural, and compliance at each home.
•  Manage all third-party contractors. Ensure that all necessary qualifications, insurance, and licenses are in place and that all safety requirements are met.
•  Manage operating budget and cost controls for homes, grounds and gardens and have the ability to address Rate/Volume/Mix/Timing
•  Drive accountability of all FFWS Employee Handbook, Operational Standards, KPI’s and Individual Job duty expectations for the teams
•  Maintain routine communication with all departments regarding equipment operating status and production availability.
•  Responsible to maintain all equipment records to drive Predictive/Condition Based Maintenance.
•  Develop annual and monthly maintenance plans for homes, grounds and gardens.
•  Event Support that impacts Grounds and Gardens
•  Develop written procedures for all tasks.
•  Create Asset Leger and Service Tracker for all operations equipment and vehicles
•  Prepare monthly progress reports for management to share with various departments.
•  Promotes quality work and a team atmosphere.
•  Offer solutions to problems and procedures to increase efficiency and safety.
•  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•  Ability to effectively communicate to site personnel, Vendors, OEM’s, and Management.
•  Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook.
•  Able to multi-task and handle high pressure situations with limited supervision and meet deadlines.
•  Exercise fiscal responsibility, within established budgetary constraints.
•  Problem-solve and adjust to changing timelines
•  Must be able to work in a team environment and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company’s values of exhibiting the highest quality standards in all endeavors.

Experience and Qualifications:
•  4-year college degree or equivalent experience with Maintenance Principles.
•  10-15 years' experience with increasing Maintenance responsibilities
