Oak Ridge Winery is a family owned and operated winery that strives to be a leader in the wine industry. It is the oldest continuously operating winery in Lodi and has been owned by the Maggio family since 2002. The last twenty years have resulted in several well-known wine brands - all produced from certified green, sustainably produced vineyards.
Job purpose
This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Oak Ridge Winery Tasting Room and Wine Club. The Tasting Room Manager will foster a premium hospitality experience, encourage the sale of wine and new memberships, while ensuring the tasting room team is providing exceptional customer service.
Duties and responsibilities
Essential Duties:
• Motivate, mentor, train and manage tasting room staff to efficiently manage visitors and be an exceptional ambassador for the winery.
• Manage all aspects of the wine club; processing, correspondence, account management, and coordination of shipping.
• Familiar and experienced with Commerce 7 and Shippo preferred.
• Provide ongoing education to staff on new releases, upcoming events, promotions, and the Lodi wine industry updates.
• Manage inventory for all wines and merchandise.
• Update and be on top of vintage changes and tech notes for the website and POS system.
• Oversee the opening/closing procedures for Tasting Room.
• Schedule monthly staffing in Tasting Room and special events.
• Coordinate educational opportunities with the Winemaking team.
• Create and coordinate all aspects of events for Tasting Room and Wine Club.
• Organize all aspects off site vendors, food trucks, and musicians.
• Responsible for curating the wine club quarterly selections and coordinating marketing, inventory, and shipping needs.
• Select and update monthly tasting room menu.
• Create sales and promotional initiatives for tasting room year-round.
• In coordination with the Marketing Department, develop marketing material and campaigns related to tasting room and wine club events and promotions.
Other Duties:
• Communicate and support company policies and decisions while complying with all State and Federal laws regulating the industry
• Develop strategies to increase patronage, sales per transaction and other metrics that grow the business.
• Effectively communicate with all departments of the winery.
• Track metrics for wine club signups, TR team tips, overall sales and event attendance.
• Create, meet, and exceed monthly sales goals.
• Maintain a friendly, customer-focused, and clean Tasting Room environment.
• Other duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Experience: 2 years required in Sales, Hospitality, or Marketing. Previous wine industry experience preferred.
• Ability to develop, implement and reach sales goals.
• Ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision and use independent judgement.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow through with projects.
• Creative thinker with a fresh approach to promoting the Tasting Room and drive traffic.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Must be able to work a TH-SUN schedule with occasionally evening shifts and holidays.
• Exceptional professionalism and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and follow through skills.
• Proficient with industry CRM, with Commerce 7 being preferred.
Working conditions
This job requires regular weekend hours, holidays, dealing with challenging customers at times, and overseeing the daily activity of the team.
Eligible for a discretionary bonus structure.
Physical requirements
This job requires standing for extended periods of time, lifting cases of wine (40lbs), bending, stooping, and pouring. Occasional extended periods of administrative, computer work.
