Mechanic Maintenance

Position Summary:
Sonoma Specialty Foods is currently looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic for one food manufacturing facilities, Sonoma Specialty Foods. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting our production line equipment. This role will report to the facilities Engineer/Maintenance Manager at our ;production facility in Sonoma, CA. Sonoma Specialty Foods (“SSF” or the “Company”) is a food manufacturing business located in Sonoma, CA. The Company manufactures primarily shelf-stable pasta sauces, soups, olive oils, spreads and other dressings. SSF manufactures for both co-packing and private label customers.

Key Areas of Responsibility
•  Maintains Plant’s preventative Maintenance as per PM schedule, including accurate and up to date record keeping

•  Assists with production line Pre-op, setting up line equipment and supplies as required for formulation, container and label of product being packaged

•  Works closely with Plant Engineer and production Manager to re-tool the production line to meet production schedule changes

•  Monitors and programs equipment for ultimate performance

•  Ability to troubleshoot and repair all manufacturing plant equipment utilizing a mix of trade skills; welding, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pneumatics and hydraulics

•  Understands the electrical & mechanical operation of the equipment, how to adjust it safely and have the ability to disassemble & reassemble it as needed

•  Perform other tasks as directed.

Qualifications
Education and experience
•  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 3 to 5 years related experience.
•  Experience in Food/Beverage (preferred)

Technical Experience
Plumbing
•  Capable of repairing/replacing copper, plastic or stainless-steel piping, steam fittings
•  Electrical
•  Comfortable with electrical schematics and working with voltage ranging from 24V to 480V
•  Capable of troubleshooting motor control circuits
•  Ability to run wiring, conduit, and make proper connections (polarity)

Welding
•  Capable of welding tig/mig for repairs and light fabrication.

Hydraulic / Pneumatic:
•  Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic controls.
•  Capable of identifying valve types and troubleshoot valve control failures.

Troubleshooting Abilities
•  Ability to assess/repair equipment using OEM specification, schematics
•  Ability to diagnose equipment failures correctly and repair in a timely manner.

•  Must have a capacity to learn

•  Works well within a team environment
•  Ability to lift 50 pounds.
•  Ability to work flexible schedules including overtime
•  Highly organized and self-motivated.
