Are you passionate about fine Italian wines and eager to drive sales in one of the most dynamic markets in the U.S.? A leading importer of premium wines is seeking an ambitious and experienced Sales Manager to grow our presence in New York.
About the Role:
As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing key accounts, developing relationships with distributors and retailers, and implementing effective sales strategies to expand our brand’s footprint. Your expertise in wines and connections within the industry will be invaluable in securing placements, driving revenue, and fostering partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for sales execution, leading and achieving business plans and performance objectives within assigned markets
• Manage and grow existing accounts while identifying new business opportunities
• Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to maximize market penetration
• Collaborate with distributors to ensure strong representation and sales growth
• Educate Distributor Representatives, Retailers and Restaurant buyers through tastings and events
• Stay current on industry trends and market dynamics to drive results
• Participate in events and activities outside of normal business hours while representing Empson USA in a manner consistent with our values and goals
Qualifications:
• Must live in NY metro area.
• Minimum 3-years of experience in wine sales or beverage distribution, preferably with Italian wines
• Strong industry network in NY with distributors, retailers, and restaurants
• Regular working schedule to include evenings and weekends if need be.
• Frequent travel within sales territory, both by car and train.
• Ability to lift at least 45 pounds (case of wine).
• Strong business acumen: know the industry, competition, and trends affecting the business.
• Ability to develop and maintain strategic business relationships
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Fluency in Italian is a plus, but not required
• Knowledge of state and federal liquor laws required
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office Suite and software applications related to job functions.
