Core Responsibilities:
This is a full-time position that works directly under the supervision of the owner and Accountant while also working closely with other departments on a daily basis. Primary responsibilities and tasks include processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the reconciliation of the bank statements and credit card statements on a monthly basis. The Bookkeeper may also be needed to assist with compliance and human resource clerical duties. The position requires someone who is fast, yet efficient with data entry and MUST pay attention to detail. This person should feel comfortable working with a team, as well as on their own, and understand that attention to detail and communication is the key to ongoing success.
Compensation:
• Hourly wage would be $18.00-$24.00 per hour DOE.

Key Functions:
• Knowledge of cost accounting for wineries a strong plus
• Manage the accounts payable process in a accurate and timely manner
• Ensure all invoices and payments are approved prior to processing
• Accurately record invoices into QuickBooks, ensuring invoices are properly dated and recorded in the correct accounting period
• Ensure safeguarding of all checks including blank, unsigned and signed checks
• Maintain vendor database with accurate information, including remit to addresses, vendor contacts, etc.
• Communicate with vendors effectively in regards to status of payment
• Help prepare work papers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances for all financial statements
• Ensure compliance with all applicable finance, accounting, tax and industry compliance laws, rules and regulations
• Time card calculations for employees and contracted labor services as applicable
• Payroll preparation and check writing or reporting to contracted labor services
• Preparation of and completion of State and Federal quarterly and year-end payroll reports
• Payment of any applicable State and Federal quarterly year-end payroll taxes
• Answer queries for employment verification and other employee information as necessary
• Maintain confidential payroll/personnel information for company and employees
• Assist with the maintenance of the inventory reconciliation with the perpetual inventory system across specific warehouse locations
Core Qualifications & Skills:
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and experience with POS systems
• High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
• Proven ability to build and work as a team player
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate discretion, good judgment, tactfulness and diplomacy
• Understands accounting cycles
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to think creatively and be innovative
• Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
• Close attention to detail, producing a high level of accurate results.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Clean driving record with Washington State DMV
• No Criminal History (criminal background check required)
• Be willing and available for travel as needed
Education/Experience Requirements:
• Should have at a minimum 2 years Accounting/Bookkeeper experience
• Familiar with or has worked in the wine industry preferred
• HS Diploma or equivalent
