About the Role
The Hospitality Manager leads and develops a high-performing team to deliver best-in-class guest and member experiences while driving sales, supporting efficient operations, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. This role ensures DAOU's luxury hospitality standards are consistently met through exceptional service, seamless operations, and strategic engagement, while providing hands-on leadership on the tasting room floor.
Responsibilities:
The Hospitality Manager (HM) is the frontline site manager for all guest interaction programming and financial deliverables in the following areas:
Guest & Member Experience
* Deliver exceptional consumer, trade, VIP, and estate event experiences that reflect DAOU's luxury wine lifestyle.
* Manage reservations, table flow, and space utilization to optimize guest traffic and service quality.
* Personalize experiences using guest history and preferences; research VIPs prior to visits.
* Build strong relationships with private clients, VIPs, trade, and media to enhance brand loyalty.
Team Leadership & Development
* Recruit, train, and lead a team of 30+ hospitality staff.
* Provide hands-on leadership on the tasting room floor and maintain ongoing wine education programs.
* Design and implement standardized training to uphold luxury service standards.
Sales & Financial Performance
* Drive revenue growth through wine club sign-ups, data capture, and guest engagement strategies.
* Monitor sales trends, manage costs, and adjust tactics to achieve financial targets.
* Collaborate on strategies to maximize profitability and guest satisfaction.
Operations & Systems
* Maintain SOPs and operational workflows for seamless service.
* Oversee facility readiness, repairs, and alignment of tasting room calendar with marketing and events.
* Manage scheduling, payroll, staffing, and POS/reservation systems.
About You:
* You are at least 21 years old and hold CA Food Handler and RBS certifications.
* You have a minimum of 3 years' experience in hospitality, winery, luxury sales, or a related industry.
* You have proven success in sales management and delivering elevated guest experiences.
* You are passionate about wine and the luxury lifestyle; wine certification (WSET, SWE, CMS) is preferred.
* You have strong leadership skills with emotional intelligence, inspiring and developing teams.
* You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* You have knowledge of CRM, POS, and reservation systems, and are eager to learn new technologies.
* You are comfortable leading tastings, tours, and events, including setup and breakdown.
