Long Shadows Vintners is hiring part-time tasting room associates for our Woodinville tasting room. This is an ideal job for anyone looking to supplement their income and pour wine at a respected Washington State winery. We ask part-time tasting room associates to work Saturdays. Additional shifts and special events are also available and we take pride in scheduling part-time employees based on their busy schedules. Previous experience in wine or beverage service is not required—excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide a memorable experience for our guests is essential. Applicants must be flexible and coachable quick learners, with a great sense of humor.
Essential Responsibilities
• Interact with our guests using a professional and attentive manner during all points of contact, including receiving phone calls, making reservations, assisting with account inquiries, completing sales, and welcoming all visitors to the tasting room.
• Host multiple tableside tasting experiences at once, up to four tables at a time.
• Build your knowledge of Long Shadows and the technical specifications of our wines. Relate this information to guests with precision, brevity, and poise.
• Promote wine sales while maintaining a warm and customer-centered presence.
• Convert first-time guests to repeat customers and wine club members.
• Maintain compliance with state regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages and uphold safe food handling practices.
• Contribute actively to the tasting room goals of exceptional service and hospitality for every guest and visitor, and provide personal touches to each tasting.
• Complete opening and closing tasks (restocking, polishing glassware, cleaning).
• Provide support in the kitchen with dishes, food prep, and running items to the front.
• Assist with additional tasks as needed.
Schedule Requirements
• This is a part-time position on weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings.
• Work 1 to 3 shifts per week. Including a shift on Saturday.
• Ideal applicants will be able to work at least 6 shifts per month.
• Shifts are typically from 11:00 to 6:00 Mon-Thurs, and until 7:00 on Fri and Sat.
• We are looking to hire and train immediately.
• We provide 14 hours (two days) of paid on-the-job training to ensure you are fully immersed in the Long Shadows portfolio, its tasting room, and our systems.
Minimum qualifications:
21+ years of age.
Valid Class 12 Mixologist Permit (MAST Card) from Washington State Liquor Board
Current food handler’s card from King County.
Positive collaborator, excellent customer service skills and grace under pressure.
Experience in a guest-facing role or similar, especially fast-paced environments where cultivating relationships and multitasking intersect.
Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with our standards of service, including appropriate dress and language on the floor.
Lift 40 lbs, work on your feet for 7+ hours, move quickly and efficiently.
Motivation to provide guests with a memorable wine tasting experience.
Strong personal skills, and the ability to relate to guests with a wide variety of personalities, ages, and backgrounds.
Ability to work with our digital POS and reservation systems.
Ability to commute and provide your own transportation to the tasting room in Woodinville, always arriving on time for your shift.
Compensation
$17.00 per hour base pay
Pooled gratuity (typically $20.00+ per hour on weekends)
