About the Role:
The Inbound Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all inbound functions within our warehouse including receiving, product verification, put away, and bulk storage management. This leader ensures that all incoming POs are accurately received, inspected, and entered the WMS, and that products are efficiently stowed into the correct racking or bulk storage locations to maintain optimal warehouse flow and inventory accuracy.
This role is critical to maintaining the heartbeat of our fulfillment operation, partnering closely with Inventory, Procurement, and Warehouse Leadership to ensure that inbound processes align with daily shipping priorities, space utilization plans, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving Management:
o Oversee all inbound shipments, including scheduling, unloading, inspection, and verification against purchase orders.
o Ensure all receipts are promptly entered into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) with full traceability and accuracy.
o Partner with Procurement and Inventory teams to resolve discrepancies, damages, or short shipments.
Put away & Storage Optimization:
o Direct the put away process to guarantee efficient stow and accurate product placement in racking, bin, or bulk storage locations.
o Maximize warehouse capacity and ensure inventory integrity through proper slotting and location management.
o Collaborate with the Director of Operations to refine zoning, racking strategy, and equipment utilization.
Leadership & Team Development:
o Manage and develop a team of inbound leads and associates, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
o Schedule and allocate labor across split shifts to meet inbound volume and service level goals.
o Conduct training on receiving and WMS best practices, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
Process Improvement & KPIs:
o Establish, track, and report on inbound metrics (dock-to-stock time, receiving accuracy, put away rate, and space utilization).
o Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to improve speed and reduce handling costs.
o Ensure inbound areas meet 5S standards and compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
Inventory Management:
o Year-round cycle counting
o Pre-Sale inventory counting
o Maintain accurate inventory practices
o Identify and reduce inventory discrepancies
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of warehouse or distribution experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
• Proven expertise with WMS platforms (Linnworks, NetSuite, or equivalent preferred).
• Strong understanding of inbound logistics, PO reconciliation, and warehouse layout optimization.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Forklift certification and experience with MHE (order pickers, reach trucks, pallet jacks) preferred.
