Account Coordinator
We’re looking for a talented, detail-oriented, resourceful and self-motivated individual who is eager to build a career in public relations in the wine, spirits and hospitality-focused world. Our ideal candidate is very hard working, has a great sense of humor, extremely creative, detail oriented, organized, fun, enthusiastic, energetic, always curious and passionate about wine, spirits, food and travel. Ideal candidates will possess previous internship/professional in-house agency experience. This position is in our Los Angeles office.
Responsibilities:
Administrative support across several accounts (IE this is primarily a desk job!)
Immersion into all varieties of media (print, digital, broadcast, and social) as it pertains to both the team's practice and targeted client markets
Writing and editing press releases and press materials
Tracking client agendas
Development of creative ideas our clients can use to set themselves apart in the media
Actively pitching our clients to journalists on, email, phone and in person
Keeping track and managing all media activity for clients via monthly reports
Organizing event participation, press trips and media tours
Researching new and keeping abreast of top wine, food, travel, lifestyle and business writers
Researching and connecting with social media influencers
Social media support for both Jarvis Comm. and its clients across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin
Occasional travel to visit our clients, attending wine dinners, tasting panels, and food and wine events
Social media ideation and execution
New business development
Client services development
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have had in-house agency experience (internship, or entry level job)
Ideal candidates will have had wine or restaurant or hospitality related role and/or a 4-year college degree
Passionate about wine, spirits, food, luxury hospitality, agriculture
Strong and engaging written and oral communication skills
Be self-motivated, take initiative, and demonstrate appropriate follow-through
Ability to multi-task and prioritize with attention to detail: proofreading, grammar, fact-checking
Ability to take direction and constructive feedback and move forward productively
Creative and strategic thinker open to sharing unique pitch ideas and story angles
Passion for client services
Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
Adobe Photoshop, ACT, Muckrack, CANVA knowledge a plus
Social media platform knowledge Linkedin, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok
Exceptional customer service skills
Exceptional organizational skills (details!) and ability to multi-task
Exceptional phone skills--loves to engage in conversation
Prioritizes, plans, and takes initiative without direction
Works productively in a team environment
Intimate knowledge of food and wine industry trends, and media outlets
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must have a valid CA drivers license and be willing to drive media to visit clients
