Senior Financial Planning & Systems Analyst

The Duckhorn Portfolio

Hybrid > Santa Rosa, CA

Job Description:

The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America’s most revered wineries, including Decoy, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Canvasback, Calera, Kosta Browne, Sonoma Cutrer, Greenwing and Postmark.

The Senior Financial Planning & Systems Analyst plays a key role in advancing the company’s financial planning capabilities by combining strategic FP&A insight with Anaplan expertise. This role supports the enhancement, governance, and optimization of the Anaplan planning ecosystem — ensuring that data flows seamlessly across systems and that business users have timely, reliable insights to make informed decisions. In addition to owning the technical integrity of the Anaplan platform, this role partners closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to improve forecasting accuracy, streamline reporting, and modernizing financial processes. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building financial models as they are architecting data flows, enabling Finance to operate more efficiently and strategically.

This role is hybrid, located in Santa Rosa, CA.

What we will ask you to do:
•  Administer and enhance the Anaplan planning application, including model building, maintenance, and process improvements to support forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
•  Conduct data analysis, mining, and management across multiple systems and structures to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
•  Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to ensure data normalization, automation, and seamless integration between systems such as ERP, BI, and Anaplan.
•  Provide technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, cleansing, and mapping to improve analytics efficiency.
•  Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that help management monitor business results and KPIs.
•  Use reporting tools and PowerPoint to craft compelling narratives and presentations around business insights and analysis.
•  Leverage Visio or similar flowchart tools to visualize and document financial processes, system flows, and planning structures.
•  Partner with business leaders to analyze and document financial workflows, helping to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
•  Participate heavily in the budgeting and forecasting processes, including:
o Sales forecasting
o Production forecasting
o Operating expense forecasting
o Capital expenditure forecasting
o Costing and profitability analysis
•  Assist in evaluating new business opportunities and strategic initiatives through modeling and scenario analysis.
•  Support the Accounting team during external audits by providing documentation and financial analysis as needed

What you will need:
•  Bachelor’s Degree or experience in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
•  5+ years’ experience in CPG FP&A, financial systems, or related roles.
•  Advanced Excel skills.
•  Anaplan model building (model builder certification preferred).
•  Experience integrating Anaplan with ERP and other business tools.
•  Ability to work with complex data sets and integrate information across multiple sources.
•  Demonstrated quantitative skills (financial analysis, forecasting, modeling).
•  Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, particularly in ambiguous situations.
•  Excellent communication skills and executive presence in presenting financial results.
•  Experience with SQL, Microsoft NAV (or similar ERP), Visio, and Power BI a plus.

What we will provide:
•  Health benefits for you and your family, including medical/dental/vision (with a competitively priced employee contribution to premium), and disability, life, & pet insurance.
•  Paid time off and 11 paid holidays.
•  A 401(k) plan where we invest an amount equal to 10% of your wages in your retirement account, at no cost to you, subject to management discretion.
•  A diverse team of coworkers that care about each other in a fun, exciting work environment.
•  A company that promotes from within, provides great training and a generous tuition reimbursement program.
