Job Description:

Rack & Riddle, the #1 custom sparkling wine producer in the US, is looking to add a Procurement Manager to our growing team!

Position Overview

The Procurement Manager will oversee sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing functions with a focus on packaging and materials unique to the sparkling wine industry. This role will be responsible for developing supplier partnerships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring quality standards, particularly with wine glass suppliers. The position will also play a key role in planning for new packaging initiatives and managing one direct report.


Essential Responsibilities

Lead procurement for bottles, corks, labels, capsules, wire hoods, and other packaging components.
Drive new package planning, including sourcing, testing, and supplier engagement for upcoming product launches.
Develop packaging requirements from multiple production plans, aggregate and provide long range forecast to suppliers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring favorable terms, cost control, and reliable supply.
Evaluate and onboard new suppliers, overseeing quality standards and compliance.
Collaborate with Production and QC teams to set specifications and testing standards for packaging materials.
Monitor supplier performance, ensuring consistency and quality.
Resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery schedules, quality concerns, and cost discrepancies.
Manage and develop procurement team member(s).
Partner with Production, Finance, and Operations to align procurement strategies with company goals.
Provide reporting on spending, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives.
Responsible for personnel management, hiring, training, development, evaluations and discipline of the procurement team.
Code invoices for timely payment.
Other tasks as assigned by Management.


The successful candidate’s background includes:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred).
5+ years of procurement experience, ideally in the wine, beverage, or food manufacturing industry.
Direct experience working with wine glass suppliers required.
Strong contract negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Knowledge of packaging materials and processes specific to wine or related industries.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
