SUMMARY
The Cellar Worker is responsible for executing the day-to-day cellar activities and supporting bottling line functions with minimal supervision and in a timely fashion. This position performs hands-on cellar work and bottling operations while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and sustainability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operate and maintain cellar equipment including, but not limited to, pumps, crusher/de-stemmer, plate and frame filters, crossflow systems, and other filtration equipment.
• Move, rack, blend, and gas wines in accordance with established SOPs.
• Perform ingredient and fining additions accurately and safely.
• Partner with the Lead Cellar Worker and Winemaking team to plan and execute daily cellar tasks.
• Notify the Winemaking team of any wine quality concerns such as VA, films, off-aromas, or other defects.
• Oversee the day-to-day management and monitoring of all tanks in the cellar.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized cellar environment in compliance with 5S, sustainability, and organic program requirements.
• Manage cellar supply inventories, ensure proper storage, and remove expired materials.
• Adhere to confined space entry requirements and consistently use required PPE.
• Perform all barrel procedures, including receiving, prepping, filling, topping, cleaning/sanitation, and inventory management.
• Rotate through bottling line functions such as disgorging, labeling, packaging, and quality checks to support production needs.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that the Gloria Ferrer Culture is consistently supported in all business and employee interactions, including ethical and legal aspects, compliant with state and federal law and GF policies and procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; additional technical or vocational training in winery operations is a plus.
• 1–3 years of experience in cellar operations; experience in bottling or other winery production areas preferred.
• Solid understanding of wine and winery operations, with a demonstrated willingness to continue learning and expanding skills.
• Hands-on familiarity with a wide range of winery equipment; ability to troubleshoot and operate equipment safely and effectively.
• Forklift certification/experience required.
• Strong math skills with the ability to make accurate calculations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
• Flexible, adaptable, and professional work approach with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
