In this engaging role, you will collaborate closely with distributor personnel to implement monthly programs, close sales gaps, and deliver exceptional points of distribution. Your strategic planning skills will be key as you allocate time and resources to maximize sales growth and brand presence across diverse accounts.
As a Market Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to train and coach distributor sales representatives and district managers, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to excel. By analyzing market and product performance data, you will identify and share valuable insights with management, highlighting market conditions, competitive pricing, and brand opportunities. Your efforts will contribute to maintaining consistent On-Premise pricing aligned with state brand guidelines, while also supporting recruitment efforts at key universities when needed.

What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
• Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.
• Required to travel by air and car in order to execute job functions.
• Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform wine tastings as part of job functions.
• Required to be 21 years of age or older.
• Required to Travel by air and automobile up to 25% during the course of business.
• Experience demonstrating strong leadership, selling, time management, and public speaking skills.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
How You'll Stand Out
• Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience to include a prior rotation as a Spirits Development Specialist, Spirits Development Specialist Sr, Business Intelligence Analyst Sr, Market Development Manager, Market Development Manager Sr, or Account Manager 1; OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of external alcohol sales experience to include on-premise experience.
• Experience selling or marketing Gallo brands.
