The Sales Executive will manage and grow a Napa-based territory, focused on closures, capsules, and premium wine packaging. A strong existing network in the Napa Valley wine community, packaging sales experience, and a consultative B2B approach are essential to success in this role. The Sales Executive will demonstrate strong collaboration skills including working with Sales Leadership, Account Coordinator Team, Supply Chain, Technical Services, Accounting, and Operations teams, while selling multiple product lines. This role will focus on fostering new and existing lasting partnerships with our customers. Having a passion for learning, while increasing sales and market share within territory are critical components to successfully contributing to the territory.
Key Success Factors
• Strong existing network within the Napa wine business community, with preference for candidates who reside in or have deep ties to the region
• Proven track record selling premium packaging (closures, capsules, or related wine industry products) to wineries and production teams
• Confidence engaging with winemakers, operations managers, and purchasing teams in a consultative, B2B sales setting
• Ability to manage long-term sales cycles, deliver exceptional service, and act as a reliable advisor
• Passion for wine and understanding of regional bottling timelines, production rhythms, and competitive packaging trends
Preferred Qualifications
• Existing client relationships in the Napa wine industry
• Prior success in closure, capsule and/or wine packaging sales
• Experience in navigating bottling schedules and artwork approvals
• Ability to translate technical product information into value for customers
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and plan daily, weekly, and monthly visits to wineries within the territory to promote product portfolio and reach agreed upon goals.
• Actively cross sell the company's product lines.
• Deploy a consultative approach to educate customers on company products and services with a focus on adding value to our customer's business.
• Seek out new customer opportunities and maintain strong relationships with established customers.
• Meet the demands of the annual sales budget and sell beyond the budget to reach Incentive Bonuses.
• Record, meet, fulfill, and satisfy the minimum monthly sales metrics as determined for the assigned territory.
• Actively enter and update all customer data and sales activities into the Company CRM system.
• Manage business expenses and stay within the set annual expense budgets.
• Act as a liaison between customer and CSR for orders, artwork, and special requests.
• Maintain excellent communication with customers and provide unparalleled service.
• Participate in events to market product line such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
• Work with managers and peers within every department of the company to foster a team atmosphere and promote company goals and objectives.
• Keep up on competitive information and industry changes; maintain close awareness of all competitors, their products and pricing.
• Demonstrate loyalty and a high level of integrity.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Viticulture, or related field.
• 3-5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in the wine industry selling packaging, closures, or related materials
• Understanding of Napa wine market dynamics and production timelines
• Strong local presence in Napa preferred
• CRM discipline and ability to manage complex customer portfolios and timelines
• Collaborative mindset for working across departments (art, logistics, operations)
• Highly motivated by personal and professional success.
• Strong sales skills, specifically conversational acuity, phone prospecting and follow-up skills.
• Database management skills include customer profile updates, meeting notes, customer specifications and order entry.
• Organized with high attention to detail, independent and self-sufficient.
• Excellent verbal and written presentation skills that effectively communicate the competitive advantages of our products.
• Proven experience building solid relationships with customers and providing excellent customer service.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Passionate about the wine industry, actively participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, and stay up-to-date and ahead of trends in the industry.
Physical Demands
• Able to work longer than normal business hours including frequent weekend and evening work, attending wine industry events.
• Travel domestic and internationally.
• Able to drive and sit for long period of time.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must comply with GMP/Food Safety policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and processes that apply to Harv 81 USA.
Salary Range
$75,000-$150,000 annually DOE
