Rack & Riddle Custom Wine Services, the #1 custom sparkling wine producer in the United States, is seeking to add a Account Manager (Sales) to our team.
Our growing business is looking for an Account Manager to increase sales of sparkling wine in California and the wine regions across the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new Base to Bottle opportunities for wineries looking to add sparkling wine to their portfolio and following up on potential leads. The Account Manager will also monitor sparkling wine industry trends to identify emerging markets and develop plans to utilize those markets to expand revenue. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identifying, qualifying, and securing sparkling wine business opportunities at wineries in California and other states and wine regions.
Cold calling and making multiple outbound calls daily to prospective clients.
Researching leads from directories, web searches, referrals, conferences, and digital campaigns.
Understanding the sparkling wine category and clients’ needs, offering solutions and support.
Building business relationships with potential and ongoing clients.
Developing customized targeted sales strategies by wine region.
Creating and maintaining a list/database of prospective sparkling wine clients.
Creating informative presentations; Presenting and delivering information to potential clients at meetings, industry exhibits, trade shows, and conferences.
Coordinating business generation activities.
Responding to client requests for proposals (RFPs).
Collaborating with the Business Development Team and leadership to secure, retain, and grow winery accounts.
Answering potential client questions and follow-up inquiries from existing clients.
Maintaining short and long-term business development plans.
Closing sales and working with clients through the contract process.
Meeting or exceeding annual sales goals.
Monitoring sparkling wine industry trends to identify emerging markets and opportunities.
Collaborating with management on sales goals, planning, and forecasting.
The successful candidate’s background includes:
5+ years experience selling products to beverage companies, with a strong preference for those who have sold to wineries.
Demonstrated success in lead generation, cold calling, and prospect management
Comfortable with frequent cold outreach and capable of handling rejection with resilience
Energetic, outgoing, and confident communicator
Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong drive to close deals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Eager to expand company reach with new clients and new territories
Ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities
In-depth understanding of the sales process from initiation to close
Comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with a team
Able to work under pressure and meet competing deadlines
Proven track record of sales performance and results
Creative problem solver who thrives when challenged
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs intermittently (samples, trade show supplies, etc.)
