Temporary Full Time Cellar Manager

Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Winemaker, this position manages cellar staff and workflow in the cellar, from harvest activities through aging, and bottling. The Cellar manager will be responsible for compliance, safety training, cellar cleanliness and organization, and will manage logistics while ensuring wine and juice quality standards as directed by the Winemaking staff. Other duties include facility general maintenance, water use, stormwater and winery wastewater monitoring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
•  Meets with winemaker to discuss daily, weekly and long-term work.
•  Assists in managing day to day activities of cellar staff.
•  During harvest will assist in all harvest related activities including but not limited to loading bins, unloading fruit, assisting with managing day to day activities of cellar staff, assisting with all activities in cellar and in barrel room, other duties as assigned.
•  Responsible for scheduling and maintaining cellar cleanliness and sanitation.
•  Involved in the Cellar Safety Program and adherence to all company safety standards. Ensures a safe working environment and that all personnel are safety trained and conscientious. Ensure all record keeping is current with help of the Office Manager.
•  Works with Lab and Winemaker to ensure wine production quality standards.
•  Responsible for the maintenance of wines in the Stainless and Barrel Cellars, complying with winemaking directions.
•  Responsible for receipt, inspection, organizing, routine maintenance and upkeep of barrels, as well as shipping out old barrels.
•  Assures all wine shipments into and out of the winery are handled efficiently and in a quality manner.
•  Assures all cellar personnel execute work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
•  Assures all barrel movements are promptly and accurately scanned and input into BIMS.
•  Helps coordinate mobile bottling activities under direction of winemaking.
•  Monitor Propane, Winery gas and Cellar chemical inventories; maintain records as required. Responsible for ordering all gas and chemical supplies for cellar operations.
•  Maintain supplies and equipment inventories necessary for operations.
•  Works with Winemaking team to maintains accurate inventory records, perform inventories of wines on a regular basis.
•  Develops and refines standard operating procedures in coordination with Winemaking team.
•  Other duties as assigned.



WAGE TRANSPARENCY: The base pay for this role ranges from $35.00 - $42.84 per hour. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
