The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America’s most revered wineries, including Decoy, Sonoma-Cutrer, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Canvasback, Calera, Kosta Browne, Greenwing and Postmark.
The Concierge is expected to provide exemplary service to all Duckhorn Portfolio guests in person, via email and through phone correspondence. This includes Wine Club members, Industry, and VIP guests. This role is the first point of contact for guests upon arrival thus setting the tone for their tasting experience. This position must have exceptional communication and guest services skills, being gracious, focused, and highly organized, which contributes to the overall success of our hospitality programming. Professionalism, exceptional phone and email etiquette, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and having an attention to detail is essential to succeed in this position.
What we will ask you to do:
Phone and Office Duties
• Answer all calls courteously and professionally using a friendly and sincere greeting and guest names when possible.
• Educate guests about The Duckhorn Portfolio tasting options at each property, including Elevated experiences, pricing, and availability.
• Assist guests with information and reservations at recommended restaurants, hotels, and other winery partners.
• Develop on-going relationships with guests to encourage repeat visits and future wine sales.
• Assist in routing calls to different departments and employees throughout The Duckhorn Portfolio.
• Respond to appointment requests and emails in a timely and professional manner, promoting the benefits of all TDP properties, offerings, and products.
Reservation Oversight and Review
• Monitor, modify, or cancel guest reservations in accordance with TDP policies, providing daily management of online booking availability via internal reservation system.
• Schedule and choreograph appointments to ensure that the flow is appropriate for the tasting rooms, managing waitlists and coordinating directly with guests.
• Regularly update the WineDirect database with customer contact information, personal notes, and accurate purchase history.
• Enter and process new wine club signup forms, shipping orders, and data capture in WineDirect system (same day if possible).
Concierge and Guest Facing Duties
• Welcome and greet guests explaining tasting options and greet wines, assigning tables, and seating upon arrival.
• Maintain aesthetic of the retail locations and all guest facing areas.
• Understand POS functions, assist with register sales, cash handling, and new wine club membership inquiries.
• Assists tasting room team with the set up and cleanup of the hospitality area at the beginning and end of each day.
What you will need:
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in the luxury hospitality or wine industry.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborative/team operational skills.
• Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, Outlook, TOCK, and Wine Direct.
• Available to work weekends and select holidays.
• Valid Driver's License and insurable MVR.
