Location: This is a hybrid position and can be based out of Mumm Napa in Rutherford or Kenwood Vineyards in Kenwood; additional office located in American Canyon, offering a picturesque wine country environment with opportunities for professional growth.
Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager at Pernod Ricard is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing budgetary processes to contribute to the company's financial health. The Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic initiatives within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Forecasting and Reporting
• Lead the monthly reporting process ensuring team alignment on deadlines and responsibility areas.
• Calendarize and clearly communicate all forecasting and reporting deadlines to the finance team ensuring clear ownership of all tasks.
• Complete monthly journal entries and accruals timely and accurately.
• Ensure completeness, accuracy and on time delivery of all local & global reporting and rolling forecasts including Volume, P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
• Report all required inter- company balances in a timely manner and proactively communicate with intercompany stakeholders as required.
• Recommend and enact corrective actions required to ensure adherence to targets.
• Drive efficiency and streamline processes across all reporting initiatives with a continuous improvement mindset.
Capex / Fixed Asset
• Maintain Capex processes in line with the Group guidelines.
• Ensure approval for capex in line with delegation of authority.
• Forecast and report on capex with a focus on cash flow, deliver clear communication of drivers and risk and opportunity management.
• Manage the maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register ensuing it is up to date for all additions and disposals.
• Manage and review Fixed Asset and Capex account reconciliations.
Financial Reporting and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Establish and monitor financial controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Conduct regular assessments of financial management practices and recommend improvements.
• Lead the coordination of balance sheet recs across the team with a focus on completeness, timeliness and risk mitigation.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of all assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis (incl. Payables, Receivables, Bank), including processing of journals where relevant.
• Foster a culture of accountability and transparency within the finance team.
Skills / Qualifications / Experience:
Essential:
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a Finance related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI
• Demonstrated experience in relationship building, communicating, influencing and negotiating with senior level stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills; able to self-manage priorities, workflow and meet tight deadlines
• Focus on continuous improvement of processes
• Accuracy, attention to detail, compliance with processes and procedures
Desirable:
• Previous wine industry experience
• JDE, Concur, TAP, Hubble Desired
Special Conditions:
• Incumbent will be expected to be flexible in work location, recognizing regional nature of the role
• Incumbent will be expected to work flexible hours including outside normal working hours on occasions.
• Incumbent may be expected to travel intrastate/interstate for short periods.
• Prepared to undertake any additional training to complement the requirements of the position

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay scale offered for this position is $115,000- $135,000. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. The Company reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
