Summary

The Visitor Center Host is the embodiment of Faust and our guest experience philosophy. A key role with Faust Haus, our hosts serve to educate our guests, share our unique story and invite our guests to purchase wines and join our membership. Hosts assist in greeting guests upon arrival and hosting them throughout their estate experience. The Visitor Center Host is responsible for all aspects of the guest experience, from set-up to breakdown of the necessary experience elements.

This is a seasonal role eligible, located in St. Helena.

Essential Duties:

*The following reflects essential functions for this role but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
•  Guest Experience - Host our guests for an educational and memorable visit to our estate. Our hosts create memories through storytelling and educate through sharing their knowledge of our winemaking and viticulture techniques.
•  Guest Engagement - Our hosts strive to create and cultivate meaningful relationships with our Faust Haus members and guests with genuine interaction that is approachable and friendly.
•  Membership and wine sales - Hosts are evaluated on wine sales, membership sign-ups and personal conversion rates.
•  Create and maintain a guest-oriented environment focused on building guest relationships and loyalty.
•  Well versed and passionate about wine. Seeks to attain wine knowledge ranging from the wine industry, farming and production. Deploys that knowledge to build rapport and educate our guests and members.
•  Input orders and maintain guest notes accurately and in a timely fashion through our CRM.
•  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep busy during down time.

Engage with guests and promote capture of contact data for our membership program, mailing list, and wine sales.
•  Direct foot and vehicle traffic, set up and break down of new appointments including glassware, menus, notecards, and pens.
•  Responsible for buffing and cleaning glassware and restocking as needed.
•  Experience and ability to host large groups.
•  Ability to set up and break down experiences with little to no supervision.
•  Excellent time management; proactively sets up experiences. When hosting, displays time management maturity and hosts groups within the allotted time frame.
•  Assists with inventory management of VC wine inventory and supplies on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
•  Ability to host VIP experiences, trade, offsite events, and members.
•  Does not tire of repetitive tasks.
•  Attends in house educational trainings.

Qualifications
•  Two - five years of sales/hospitality experience with a background in customer services, wine education, wine sales, hotel/concierge, and or wine club.
•  Available to work nights, weekends, some holidays and have a flexible schedule.
•  Role includes extensive sitting, standing, and walking.
•  Experience with CRM and POS systems.
•  Must be at least 21 years of age.
•  High school diploma or equivalent.
•  Preliminary wine, winemaking, and viticulture knowledge.
•  POS/CRM systems experience.

Physical requirements

•  Ability to stand for long periods of time.
•  Repetitive use of hands and wrists to open wine bottles, pour wine and operate POS system.
•  Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
