Summary
Acker, the oldest and most respected wine shop in America is hiring for a Retail Fulfillment & Logistics Specialist. This role is responsible for optimizing supply chain processes and supporting inventory management within the retail operations department. The Retail Fulfillment & Logistics Specialist plays a key part in coordinating logistics, streamlining operational workflows, and improving overall retail movement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Logistics:
• Run and monitor reports of pending shipments, ensuring deadlines and ship dates are adhered to.
• Work with the auction logistics department on timing of container shipments and dedicated delivery runs.
• Work with the NYC retail team to schedule deliveries locally in the NYC area.
• Coordinating with third party companies for pickups from the warehouse.
• Provide shipping quotes and labels internally for sales reps and NYC operations team.
• Contact curriers as needed regarding any issues or changes.
• Reach out to clients as needed who have inventory ready to be shipped.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly shipments for the Acker Wine Club subscriptions.
Inventory:
• Account for inventory transfers between the DE warehouse, VC warehouse, and NYC retail store via data entry.
• Conduct regular audits of retail inventory in the warehouse and investigate any issues or discrepancies.
• Submit transfer requests and paperwork (inbounds, and outbounds) to the warehouse team, send final manifest emails.
• Bin out and transfer new stock that arrives to the warehouse.
Customer Service:
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients.
• Work with sales representatives to ensure all clients’ needs are met.
Orders:
• Fulfill pre-arrival orders as they become fulfillable with newly arrived stock.
• Work with Acker Storage team on incoming orders destined for Acker Storage.
• Update order notes in the system for all shipments and transfers.
• Monitor relevant sales batches in the system for orders needing attention.
• Monitor warehouse progress on the picking and staging of orders
Qualifications
• Some knowledge and/or a deep passion for wine and/or spirits industry is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze problems, propose sound solutions and/or make recommendations and take action.
• Must be exceptionally detail-oriented, and able to see the big picture.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively, efficiently, and independently, follow through on assignments with minimal direction and supervision.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to work extended hours when needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field (preferred).
• Experience in retail fulfillments, operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Combination of office and warehouse settings.
• May require occasional travel to retail or warehouse location.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for short durations.
