Hamel in Sonoma, California is seeking a lab & data entry specialist to assist its core winegrowing team for the 2025 harvest!

Approximate Time Frame: Mid August – Mid October 2025. Exact term of position is dependent on the growing season.

Successful candidates will share a passion for wine and viticulture, and an interest in biodynamic grape growing and minimal intervention winemaking. They will also be prepared to work efficiently in an exacting work environment. The position requires a deep commitment to detail, rigor, and focus.

Our Lab & Data Entry Specialist position is an opportunity to dip your toes into the wine industry, without the full commitment of a laborious harvest. If successful, you will gain exposure to intensive and thoughtful winemaking practices used to produce our wines. The position entails working closely within a small team, contributing immensely to a set of terroir-driven, super luxury wines.

Responsibilities :

•  Help collect data: maturity sampling and processing grape samples in lab & running chemical analyses of wine on our Foss WineScan
•  Enter analytical data received from vineyard and winery teams;
•  Compile and organize data for review by winemaking and viticulture teams;
•  Assist with other administrative, cellar, or vineyard tasks, as needed.

The data entry position is Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

Requirements:

•  Passion for terroir and the connection between the vineyard and wine quality;
•  Excellent organizational skills;
•  Strong work ethic and self-starter;
•  Pleasant, team-oriented attitude;
•  Able to work alone for extended periods of time
•  Deep attention to detail;
•  Strong communication skills;
•  Studies in viticulture or enology or related sciences preferred;
•  Reliable transportation to and from work, as we are not accessible via public transportation


Compensation: $22/hr plus all lunches and snacks
