Accounting Manager/Controller

Dry Creek Vineyard

Healdsburg, CA

Job Description:

WHO WE ARE:
Dry Creek Vineyard, one of Sonoma County’s premier family-owned legacy wineries, is seeking an Accounting Manager/Controller to join our incredible team! We are a collection of passionate professionals whose dedication to fine wine and connecting with others is at the heart and soul of each bottle that we produce. Now in our 53rd year of operation, we are firmly committed to a “No Compromises” mentality, producing appellation-focused, terroir-driven, varietal-defining wines. We are 100% certified sustainable, and we care deeply about our wines, our customers, and each other. If our philosophy speaks to you, we want YOU to be a part of our team!

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, proactive and highly organized accounting professional to serve as a key player on our finance team. Reporting to the CFO/COO, the Accounting Manager/Controller is responsible for the day-to-day financial functions that keep our business running smoothly — from ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and closing the books to overseeing AP and ensuring accuracy across departmental budgets and reporting. This role supervises two team members and is vital to maintaining strong internal controls, clean reconciliations and timely financial reports.
You’re someone who loves the precision of accounting and understands the fast-paced rhythms of the wine industry. You’re fluent in Excel, thrive on month-end deadlines, and know how to roll up your sleeves to get things done — but you’re also a team player who communicates clearly and collaborates across departments. If you’re ready to bring your accounting expertise to a winery that values people as much as performance, we’d love to meet you.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•  Providing professional accounting support to the CFO/COO in financial operations and reporting
•  Managing month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings
•  Ensuring accuracy in the general ledger and fixed assets
•  Supervising AP and administrative staff
•  Overseeing reconciliations, accruals and internal controls
•  Preparing sales tax payments and supporting outside CPA audits
•  Assisting with inventory and vineyard accounting
•  Collaborating with HR to ensure payroll accuracy
•  Producing timely departmental financial reports

WHAT YOU BRING:
•  5+ years of accounting experience in the wine industry
•  A BA/BS in Accounting (CPA or MBA a plus, but not required)
•  Strong Excel skills and comfort with accounting systems (Microsoft Business Central a plus!)
•  Highly proficient with computerized accounting and financial systems
•  Excellent communication, time management and analytical skills
•  Ability to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, management and vendors
