The Cellar Worker III is responsible for the safe, sustainable, compliant, and efficient completion of a broad range of cellar activities assigned by the Cellar Master. This position requires knowledge of high-quality winemaking methods, and it requires advanced experience in operating the equipment of a modern winery. All employees are expected to conduct themselves with the highest degree of professionalism. We strive to make each position rewarding, challenging and productive.
What we will ask you to do:
• Understand winery equipment, including different pump types and appropriate usage.
• Scan, rack, fill, top, clean, SO2 gas, sanitize, and stack barrels.
• Operate crossflow and other filtration equipment.
• Unload and correctly label new barrels; prepare new barrels; prepare new barrels for filling.
• Red fermentation management, including pump overs, punch downs, and brix and temp monitoring.
• Assist with setup and operation of bottling line and related equipment.
• Be a team leader and lead other employees in daily tasks.
• Read, understand and complete work orders.
What you will need:
• 5 years minimum cellar experience required, including 3 years of forklift experience.
• Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Intermediate reading, writing and math skills.
• Must have intermediate English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Spanish communication a plus.
• Forklift certified or the ability to be forklift, manlift, and CPR certified.
• Must be a team player and open to suggestions and able to collaborate with others.
