The Grower Relations Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily activities of Grower Relations in the North Coast, primarily Napa and Lake counties, and plays a crucial role in maintaining strong relationships with our grower partners and ensuring quality grape supply. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work alone, and a professional approach with the grower community.


What we will ask you to do:
- Assist in monitoring crop development and projecting annual crop yields at key phenological stages.
- Maintain and develop grower vineyard maps, labels and data.
- Establish a regular cadence for visits to assigned grower vineyards to monitor and record adherence to contractual terms and cultural practice standards.
- Support Grower Relations Manager in coordinating harvest interns, maturity sampling, and harvest scheduling and logistics.
- Support in cultivating and maintaining professional, effective, and mutually beneficial working relationships between winery and growers.
- Assist with maintaining goodwill in the grower community, through regularly scheduled vineyard visits and attending industry events and educational programs.
- Assist and gain knowledge into executing grape contracts in a timely, accurate and strategic manner.
- Participate and assist in annual review of wines and grower feedback to evolve and adjust viticultural strategies to optimize wine quality and cost directives.
- Contribute to knowledge of key grape markets for respective regions and varietals.
- Maintain timely, proactive, and regular communication with Manager regarding grower vineyard risks and opportunities.
- Understand, follow, and enforce all safety protocols as outlined in the company IIPP and as required by OSHA.

What you will need:
- BS in Viticulture, Agricultural Sciences, or related work experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Grower Relations, Viticulture or Vineyard Management.
- Valid California driver’s license with clean record
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, communication and time management skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and self-starter.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Desire to learn negotiation skills and ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Data Entry and Google Earth mapping.
- Ability to work in various temperatures and environments, including in inclement weather and on steep and uneven ground.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must be willing to work flexible schedule with extended hours during harvest time.
