The PlumpJack Collection of Wineries was formed in 2020 as the overarching brand for PlumpJack’s collection of Napa Valley Wineries. Each of our four wineries span the Napa Valley. Odette Estate located in the revered Stags Leap District gaining notoriety for producing the wine that won in 1973 at the Judgement of Paris. PlumpJack Winery located in the acclaimed Oakville AVA is home to some of the finest Cabernets in Napa Valley. CADE Estate Winery on Howell Mountain features unique, higher elevation terrain that produces distinctive characteristics due to its rocky, volcanic soil and cooler climate. Lastly, our 13th Vineyard is rooted in its history as the 13th bonded winery in California and is located adjacent to CADE Estate on Howell Mountain. All four feature award-winning estate wines and tasting experiences.
Purpose of the role:
Hospitality Area Manager will oversee hospitality operations across four estate tasting rooms and our event program. This leadership role is responsible for driving revenue, enhancing guest experiences, and managing a team of managers to deliver consistent, high-quality service. This is an ideal opportunity for a dynamic, sales-driven hospitality leader with multi-site management experience and a passion for wine and customer service.
Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day and strategic leadership for all hospitality operations across four tasting rooms and the winery event program.
Set and support annual sales goals for all tasting rooms and the events program.
Ensure Tasting Room Managers uphold professional standards, customer service excellence, and compliance with company policies.
Collaborate with managers on the month end inventory of wine and non-wine products.
Promote teamwork and positive employee relations.
Visit each tasting room at least twice weekly and rotate workdays across locations.
Partner with Event and Tasting Room Managers to develop unique, exceptional guest experiences.
Expand and oversee the execution of the current outreach program.
Lead staff educational programs, including Forbes Training, Responsible Beverage Service, Food Handlers, and internal training.
Schedule new release tastings with winemakers
Manage full P&L responsibilities for all tasting rooms.
Develop business plans, monitor revenue and expenses, and manage capital expenditures.
Attend quarterly P & L meetings.
Collaborate with Senior DTC Sales Manager to achieve membership goals.
Work with Senior Marketing Manager on content for monthly concierge e-blast and event marketing.
Personnel Management:
Directly manage three Tasting Room Managers and one Event Manager
Support event planning, staffing, and coordination between event and tasting room teams.
Foster unity among staff across four wineries, setting a positive example for customer experience.
Evaluate and coach staff performance; ensure cross-training and development.
Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports.
• Provide managerial assistance as needed at each tasting room.
• Represent the Winery at offsite special events as needed.

Candidate requirements:
5+ years of progressive leadership experience in the wine industry
Proven success in area management.
Strong track record in driving sales and managing P+L responsibilities.
Entrepreneurial minded with strong organization and attention to detail.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and developing team culture.
Hands on approach to maintaining high service standards.
Excellent verbal communication skills and a professional, approachable demeanour.
Proficiency in Wine Direct, Ship Compliant, and shipping coordination
Ability to work weekends and adapt to a flexible schedule.
Working Conditions:
Constantly moving between in and outdoor environment throughout shift. Indoors, works in clean, adequately lighted space. Exposed to weather conditions while moving between properties or assisting guests/employees outdoors. Work areas may be noisy and crowded. Extensive facility with varied terrain. Bi-level structures.
Physical Demands:
Stands/walks approximately 60% of shift. Sits at desk or in meetings approximately 40% of shift. Uses computer approximately 40% of shift, depending upon current projects. Constantly required to interact with people of all kinds in a courteous, friendly, helpful and diplomatic manner. Heavy use of phones, daily. Occasionally required to handle and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. over short distances. Must be able to work well under pressure. Must be flexible to work long, sometimes irregular hours. Frequent use of stairs, daily.
