Wine Production Assistant

At Gravity, we are passionate about creating exciting and well made wines that help people enjoy time with friends and family! Our small production team works hard every day to ensure a bottle of Gravity Wine exceeds expectations.

Apparently this approach is working, because demand for our awesome wines is growing, so we need to grow our team to keep up. That’s where you might come in!

We have an opportunity for the right person to join our team as the Wine Production Assistant, which is kind of a fancy way to say you will be involved in the entire process!

If you’re interested in this opportunity, read on to have some of your questions answered…

FULL TIME OR PART TIME?
This is a full time position. Most of the time you will work Monday - Friday, although very rarely we might need you on a Saturday or Sunday (we’re talking like once or twice a year at most).

WHAT ARE THE HOURS?
We start at 8:00 sharp (that means you should be there by about 10 till), take a 30 minute lunch break, and try to finish between 4:30-5:00. Some days could potentially go a little longer if we are in the middle of something, but some days will end early if we finish up early.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
As mentioned above, you will be involved in ALL aspects of the vineyards and winery, including
Bottling wine
Filtering wine
Racking wine
Additions and lab work
Cleaning tanks, equipment, and facilities
Crush, press, and othe harvest related activities
Vineyard trellis repair
Training vines
Lawn care and other property maintenance
Tractor work in vineyards

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO GET THE JOB?
Here are the things that are absolute MUST HAVES to be considered:
At least 1 year experience working at a winery in production, i.e. tasting room experience isn’t valid
Work history showing reliability
Availability Monday - Friday
Valid driver’s license with your own car to get to work
Ability to follow instructions but also able to solve problems when needed
Some common sense
Physically able to: be on your feet all day, repeatedly lift and carry 50 lbs, able to get inside wine tanks for cleaning.

HOW MUCH WILL I GET PAID?
Ahhhh… the big question! Well, it depends. Most importantly we are looking for the right person who fits in with our culture and gets along with the rest of the team well. That being said, the starting pay rate will correspond with the skills you bring to the job. At a minimum we will pay $20 per hour. We are willing to pay even more than that based on your experience level.

There will always be room for advancement and increased pay to people who excel with their current role and want to grow with our company!

If this all sounds like it’s a good fit for your life, let us know…
