Job Description:

The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America’s most revered wineries, including Decoy, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Canvasback, Calera, Kosta Browne, Greenwing and Postmark.

Our dedicated team at Sonoma Cutrer is in search of a new team member to join their quality and lab team. The Quality & Laboratory Technician II performs lab analysis using a variety of techniques and equipment and is responsible for performing quality control checks of the bottling line.

What we will ask you to do:
•  Perform wine and juice analysis, including Brix, pH, TA, SO2, ethanol, and enzymatic testing.
•  Pull wine samples.
•  Monitor fermentations: perform brix and temps of all fermenting lots, enter and review the data, report any anomalies.
•  Input data into NAV and other locations as required.
•  Facilitate bottling tank approvals with winemaking before they are needed.
•  Perform regular QC checks during bottling.
•  Communicate any issues or non-conformance with the bottling team and maintenance as needed.
•  Inspect and approve/reject packaging materials upon delivery; create non-conformance reports to communicate to the vendor when necessary.

What you will need:
•  Degree or degree in progress in viticulture or enology, or related field.
•  Prior basic lab skills, analytical and math skills required.
•  Good communication skills – written and verbal.
•  Detail oriented: ability to recognize numbers outside of tolerance, raise red flags, and ask questions.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
•  Must be a team player.
•  Ability to work independently with each laboratory instrument with limited supervision.
•  Able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
